Epoxy resin adhesives

Types of epoxy resin adhesives:

⑴ Classified by adhesive form
Solvent free adhesives, (organic) solvent based adhesives, water-based adhesives (which can be divided into two types: emulsion based and water-soluble), paste based adhesives, thin film based adhesives (epoxy film), etc.
⑵ Classified by curing conditions
1) Cold curing adhesive (unheated curing adhesive). It is further divided into:
Low temperature curing adhesive, curing temperature<15 ℃;
Room temperature curing adhesive, curing temperature 15-40 ℃.
2) Heat cured adhesive. It can also be divided into:
Medium temperature curing adhesive, curing temperature is about 80-120 ℃;
High temperature curing adhesive, curing temperature>150 ℃.
3) Other methods of curing adhesive, such as UV curing adhesive, wet surface and water curing adhesive, latent curing adhesive, etc.
⑶ Classified by bonding strength
1) Structural adhesive has high shear and tensile strength, and should also have high uneven tensile strength, so that the bonded joint can withstand loads such as vibration, fatigue, and impact for a long time. At the same time, it should also have high heat resistance and weather resistance. Usually, the room temperature shear strength of steel is greater than 25MPa, and the tensile strength is greater than or equal to 33MPa. Uneven tensile strength>40kN/m.
2) Secondary force structural adhesive, capable of withstanding moderate loads. The typical shear strength is 17-25MPa, and the uneven tensile strength is 20-50kN/m.
3) Non structural adhesive, also known as universal adhesive. Its room temperature strength is still relatively high, but as the temperature increases, the bonding strength decreases rapidly. Can only be used in areas with low stress.
⑷ Classified by purpose
1) Universal adhesive.
2) Special adhesive. Such as high-temperature resistant adhesive (used at temperatures ≥ 150 ℃), low-temperature resistant adhesive (can withstand temperatures of -50 ℃ or lower), strain resistant adhesive (used for attaching strain gauges), conductive adhesive (volume resistivity 10-3-10-4 Ω· cm), sealing adhesive (used for vacuum sealing and mechanical sealing), optical adhesive (colorless and transparent, resistant to light aging, refractive index matched with optical components), corrosion-resistant adhesive, structural adhesive, etc.
⑸ Other classifications
It can also be classified according to the type of curing agent, such as amine cured epoxy adhesive, anhydride cured adhesive, etc. It can also be divided into two-component adhesive and single component adhesive, pure epoxy adhesive and modified epoxy adhesive (such as epoxy nylon adhesive, epoxy polysulfide rubber adhesive, epoxy nitrile adhesive, epoxy polyurethane adhesive, epoxy phenolic adhesive, organosilicon epoxy adhesive, acrylic epoxy adhesive).
