Application:
Terpineol has multiple uses, mainly including the following aspects:
1. essence and spice: Terpineol is widely used to prepare daily and edible essence, especially in the preparation of lilac essence. It has strong alkaline resistance and is suitable for soap essence. Its acetate has the aroma of citron and lavender, and is often used in the preparation of essence.
2. In the pharmaceutical field, turpentine has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as inhibitory effects on pathogenic microorganisms, especially fungi. It can be used to treat diseases caused by fungal infections such as tinea corporis and tinea pedis. In addition, turpentine alcohol is also used for disinfection of surgical instruments, wound cleaning, and has inhibitory and bactericidal effects on Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, and other bacteria.
3. Other applications: Pine oil alcohol can also be used as a detergent, dyeing solvent, coating solvent, paint solvent, anti foaming agent, alcohol denaturing agent, wetting agent, etc. In the field of pesticides, turpentine has insecticidal, bactericidal, hygienic, and mosquito repellent effects.
