Application:
Cerium chloride (CeCl3) has multiple uses, mainly including the following aspects:
1. Catalysts and catalyst additives: Cerium chloride is widely used in petroleum catalysts and automotive exhaust catalysts, which can promote chemical reactions, improve reaction efficiency, and reduce pollutant emissions. In addition, it can also serve as a catalyst for certain catalytic reactions, enhancing the activity and stability of the catalyst.
2. Analytical Chemistry: In analytical chemistry, cerium chloride can be used for precipitation reactions, especially in the separation and quantitative analysis of rare earth elements.
3. Glass and ceramic manufacturing: Cerium chloride is used as a coloring agent and flux in the glass and ceramic industry, which can improve the optical properties and mechanical strength of products.
4. Fluorescent materials: Cerium chloride and its derivatives have applications in the production of fluorescent materials, especially in lighting and display technology.
5. Medical applications: Cerium chloride is an important intermediate in the preparation of certain radioactive isotopes and medical imaging.
6. Agricultural applications: Cerium chloride has significant physiological activity in agriculture. Research has shown that specific concentrations of cerium chloride can promote plant growth, improve crop stress resistance and yield. However, high concentrations of cerium chloride can have toxic effects on plants.
7. Other applications: Cerium chloride is also used in aluminum alloy anti-corrosion protective films, organic reaction catalysts, scintillation crystal materials, and other fields
